SAUDI ARABIA: PROTEST GOVERNMENT BAN ON JOURNALIST

To mark International Women's Day on 8 March, the Writers in Prison Committee of International PEN (WiPC) invites you to write a letter to Saudi Arabian authorities urging them to lift the ban on leading journalist Wajeha Al-Huwaider. Al-Huwaider writes for the Arabic-language daily "Al-Watan" and the English-language daily "Arab News" and has been banned from publishing since August 2003. She is among a growing number of liberal and opposition journalists who have been banned from publishing in Saudi Arabia and harassed by authorities in recent months, WiPC says.
