TAKE ACTION! URGE JUSTICE FOR JOURNALISTS KILLED IN IRAQ

30 March 2004

The International Federation of Journalists has launched an online petition campaign calling on U.S. authorities to make public the results of its investigations into the deaths of seven journalists killed during the Iraq war.

Two of the journalists, Taras Protsyk and José Couso, died in March 2003 after a U.S. tank fired at the Palestine Hotel in Baghdad, where they and hundreds of foreign journalists were staying. U.S. officials said the tank fired in response to enemy fire coming from the hotel, a charge widely refuted by eyewitnesses staying at the hotel.
