RSF AUSTRIA INVITES APPLICATIONS FOR PRESS FREEDOM AWARD


Journalists from Belarus, Moldova, Romania and Ukraine are invited to submit entries for the RSF Austria 2004 Press Freedom Award.

Administered by the Austrian chapter of Reporters Without Borders (Reporters sans frontières, RSF), the award honours individuals whose work promotes and defends press freedom in their countries.

There are two prizes, one for lifetime achievement and one for journalists under 40. Each winner receives a cash prize of 7,500 Euros (US$9,000).

Entries should include published articles or radio and television features accompanied by English translations. The deadline for entries is 15 September 2004.
