WORLD PRESS INSTITUTE FELLOWSHIPS

The World Press Institute (WPI), a United States-based non-profit organisation, offers four-month fellowships for experienced journalists from any country who wish to gain a more in-depth perspective on American journalistic practices.

Ten fellowships are being offered in 2005. Eligible applicants must be fluent in English and have at least five years of full-time news experience.

During the four-month fellowship, participants will travel widely in the United States to visit newsrooms, meet editors and attend seminars. They will also be required to file stories about their experiences for publications back home.

The deadline for 2005 fellowships is 31 December 2004.
