TAKE ACTION! CHINA: SIGN PETITION TO FREE JAILED INTERNET DISSIDENT

29 June 2004

Reporters Without Borders (Reporters sans frontières, RSF) invites you to sign an online petition calling for the release of imprisoned Internet user Huang Qi, who has been sentenced to four years in prison for posting articles about the Tiananmen Square massacre on his website http://wwwtianwang.com.

On 22 June 2004, RSF awarded its 2004 Cyberfreedom Prize to Huang Qi in recognition of his struggle to defend free expression on the Internet. Huang Qi says he has been beaten while in prison (http://www.rsf.org/article.php3?id_article=10810).
