WATCHDOG TO HOST CONFERENCE ON US MEDIA REFORM
Media reform advocates will be meeting in St. Louis, United States, in May for the 2005 National Conference for Media Reform, billed as a forum to discuss visionary and practical solutions to problems facing US media.
Organised by Free Press, a non-profit media watchdog, the conference will be held 13-15 May and bring together activists, media creators, academics, and policy-makers.
Participants will learn about media policy in the US and abroad, and discuss visions for a more public-interest-oriented media system in the United States; build skills for media reform activism; learn about models for successful campaigns and actions; and discuss goals and strategies for advancing positive media policy and increasing public participation in media policy-making.
The programme will include panel presentations, workshops, discussion sessions, keynote speeches and musical entertainment by renowned guests.
