IFJ JOURNALISM FOR TOLERANCE PRIZE

Journalists from Asia are invited to apply for the 2005 IFJ Journalism for Tolerance Prize, which honours excellence in reporting on minority issues.

The prize aims to deepen understanding of cultural, religious and ethnic differences in Asian communities and promotes editorial independence, high standards of journalistic ethics and diversity in media.

This year's competition is open to journalists from East and Southeast Asia and South Asia.

The competition is open to reporters and photographers working in radio, television and print/online media who have written or produced reports on community actions to combat racism and discrimination. Applicants must submit copies of reports that were published or broadcast between 1 January and 31 December 2004.

The deadline for entries is 15 June 2005.
