MISA TO HOLD AGM AND CONFERENCE IN NAMIBIA

The Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA) will hold its annual general meeting (AGM) on 25-26 August 2005 in Windhoek, Namibia, where representatives from its 11 country chapters will meet to discuss press freedom issues in the region.

MISA will also present its annual Press Freedom Award to an individual or organisation that has made an outstanding contribution to press freedom in Southern African.

Prior to the AGM, MISA will host a conference on 22-24 August, which will examine the state of media ethics and professional standards in the region, and devise a strategy for media to adopt self-regulatory guidelines and structures.
