INTERNATIONAL HUMAN RIGHTS INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME

The International Human Rights Internship Programme (IHRIP) provides support for professional development projects for staff of human rights organizations and individuals in developing countries.

Administered by the Institute of International Education, IHRIP supports projects that address a broad range of skills (e.g., fact-finding and documentation, legal aid), address specific rights or the full range of rights (civil, political, economic, social and cultural), and explore work with different constituencies (e.g., women, children, indigenous peoples).

Projects typically take one of three formats: on-site training projects; professional attachments; and study tours.

The projects focus on intensive learning about human rights through strategy and skill development. The projects range in length from one week to four months, depending on the project and needs of the organisation.
