AMARC TO COVER GLOBAL AIDS CONFERENCE

As thousands of government leaders, scientists and activists prepare to descend on Toronto, Canada in August for the 16th International AIDS Conference, the World Association of Community Radio Broadcasters (AMARC) is working to ensure that marginalised communities around the world will be informed about the outcomes of the important gathering.

AMARC will be providing daily coverage of the conference's main debates and events, which will be held from 13 to 18 August 2006. Community radio stations around the world will be able to download AMARC's broadcasts through the AMARC website (http://www.aids.amarc.org).

The conference is expected to attract some 15,000 participants from more than 100 countries who will assess global efforts to eradicate HIV/AIDS and discuss strategies for coordinated actions.
