ASIA MEDIA FORUM JOURNALISM FELLOWSHIPS

The Asia Media Forum (AMF) invites applications for the 2006-2007 AMF Journalism Fellowships, which provide up to 20 mid-career journalists with an opportunity to report on human rights-related issues for two weeks in various Asian countries.

The fellowships are open to print and broadcast journalists. Fellows will be given a US$2,000 grant covering travel expenses in the region and provided with accommodation through an AMF partner in the countries where they are placed.

Each fellow can choose to report on one of the following themes: Women's Rights; the Right to Education; the Right to Food; the Right to Human Security in Conflict and Emergencies (especially tsunami-related issues); the Right to Life and Dignity in the Face of HIV and AIDS; and the Right to Just and Democratic Governance.

The application deadlines are, respectively, 25 October 2006 for print journalists and 30 October for broadcast journalists.
