FUND SUPPORTS INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALISM IN AFRICA

The Forum for African Investigative Reporters (FAIR) has launched a grants fund for investigative journalism in Africa. The grants, funded by the Netherlands Institute on Southern Africa (NIZA), are intended to support a journalist conducting an investigative journalism project that could not otherwise be carried out due to lack of time or resources.

FAIR invites applications for two grants of 4000 Euros each for 2007. The deadline is 15 January 2007. Criteria include the subject's importance in terms of the public interest and newsworthiness. Applications are open to all investigative journalists based, working and operating in Africa.
