DART CENTER FELLOWSHIPS IN JOURNALISM AND TRAUMA

Applications for the Dart Center's 2007 Ochberg Fellowships in Journalism and Trauma are due by 20 July 2007. Those eligible are print, broadcast and online reporters, photographers, editors and producers with at least five years of journalism experience.

Each year, the Dart Center for Journalism and Trauma selects six to ten journalists for two days of seminars with trauma experts and journalist colleagues, followed by the annual conference of the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies (ISTSS). Fellowships cover all travel and ground expenses.

The program is designed to help mid-career journalists deepen their knowledge of emotional trauma and improve coverage of violence and tragedy, including crime, family violence, natural disasters and accidents, war and genocide. Most fellows are from the Americas; others are selected by the Dart Center's regional programs in Europe and Australasia.

This year's Dart Center Ochberg Fellows programme takes place in Baltimore, Maryland, from 12 to 17 November. Details and applications are available at http://www.dartcenter.org/fellowships.
