NOMINATIONS WANTED FOR KNIGHT INTERNATIONAL JOURNALISM AWARDS

The International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) is accepting nominations for the 2008 Knight International Journalism Awards, which recognise international journalists who demonstrate an extraordinary devotion to their work despite facing overwhelming challenges.

The awards honour the struggle for independent, high-quality journalism that makes a difference, especially in countries without a long history of free media.

Winners receive a trip to the U.S. and a US$1,000 cash prize, which will be presented at ICFJ's annual awards dinner in November.

The deadline for submissions is 4 April.
