COMMONWEALTH JOURNALISTS INVITED TO TACKLE PRESS FREEDOM ISSUES


Journalists from around the Commonwealth are invited to attend the Commonwealth Journalists Association's (CJA) eighth international conference in Kuching, Malaysia next month to discuss "News Targets for Today: Better democracy and a better environment".

Delegates will address press freedom in the Commonwealth, media in crisis, Internet opportunities, governance and the role of the media, and journalists' role in communicating on climate change.

Ninety-minute skills training sessions will also be offered to working journalists.

The conference, held every three years, runs from 14 to 18 October.
