PUBLIC INVITED TO PARIS TO CELEBRATE LAUNCH OF GLOBAL NETWORK INITIATIVE

The new Global Network Initiative, which promises to combat online censorship and protect user privacy on the Internet, is inviting the public to attend an evening forum in Paris on 4 December to mark its introduction.

Hear what rights groups, including the Committee to Protect Journalists, Human Rights Watch and the World Press Freedom Committee, along with the tech giants Google, Microsoft and Yahoo!, have to say in a roundtable, which will be followed by an open discussion with the audience.

The forum is taking place in conjunction with the International Seminar on Business and Human Rights, in celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Admission to the forum, from 6 to 8 pm at the Palais de Chaillot, is free. RSVP to the Global Network Initiative via email: info (@) globalnetworkinitiative.org (subject line "Paris"). Those who RSVP will be sent more details.
