IRFS launches 24-hour media hotline in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijani organisations the Institute for Reporters' Freedom and Safety (IRFS) and the Media Rights Institute have set up a 24-hour hotline for journalists and media groups in distress, especially those facing court cases or criminal defamation suits.

IRFS will conduct investigations into calls made to the hotline, and refer cases demanding legal assistance to the Media Rights Institute.

The hotline was set up with support from the U.S. State Department within the framework of the "Media Defence Fund" project.
