CCHR Fundamental Freedoms Fact Sheet: freedom of expression and the distribution of leaflets


(CCHR/IFEX) - 12 August 2011 - CCHR has released the third "fact sheet" in its "Fundamental Freedoms" series, which gives a brief overview of different fundamental freedoms or topics relating to them. This fact sheet focuses on freedom of expression and the distribution of leaflets. Expressing information and ideas through the distribution of leaflets is one way that Cambodian citizens can exercise their right to freedom of expression. However, there are concerns about a recent trend of convictions aimed at those involved in the distribution of leaflets criticising the Royal Government of Cambodia.
