Open Society Institute to Monitor Independence of TV in Europe
8 June 2004
The Open Society Institute (OSI) has launched a new project to assess the state of independent television broadcasting in Europe.
The EU Monitoring and Advocacy Program (EUMAP) will conduct research into the role television plays in 21 countries and examine the impact of commercial and political interests on independent broadcasting. It will also look at how international standards have influenced the regulatory environment for television broadcasting.
