IFJ PUBLISHES SOUTH ASIA PRESS FREEDOM REPORT

The International Federation of Journalists has released its fourth annual South Asia Press Freedom Report, which documents the state of press freedom in eight countries: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

"Journalism in Troubled Times" outlines trends in each country and lists cases of press freedom violations recorded by IFJ between April 2005 and May 2006. The report was written on behalf of the South Asia Media Solidarity Network (SAMSN) and supported by UNESCO.
