TAKE ACTION! PROTEST VIRTUALLY ON INTERNATIONAL ONLINE FREE EXPRESSION DAY, 12 MARCH

Reporters Without Borders (RSF) is launching the first International Online Free Expression Day on 12 March under UNESCO's patronage, alongside a 24-hour online demo against Internet censorship.

Internet users are asked to come and demonstrate on the RSF website ( http://www.rsf.org ) from 10am GMT on 12 March to the same time the next day, in protest against the 62 cyber-dissidents currently behind bars for freely expressing themselves on the Internet and against the closing down of more than 2,600 websites last year.

"We are giving all Internet users the opportunity to demonstrate in places where protests are not normally possible. We hope many will come and protest in virtual versions of Beijing's Tiananmen Square, Cuba's Revolution Square or on the streets of Rangoon, in Burma," says RSF.

Also find out which countries made RSF's list of "Internet Enemies", now 15-strong, and get the latest version of its "Handbook for Bloggers and Cyber-Dissidents".

It's all here on 12 March: http://www.rsf.org
