CPJ concerned over politicised trial of journalists, civil servant
The organisation urges the Sultan of Oman to instruct judicial authorities to respect the letter of the law in the case of two journalists sentenced to imprisonment on defamation charges.

Books banned; writers and journalists blacklisted
The Omani government confiscated several banned books from a book fair this month and continues to cultivate a blacklist of writers and journalists who are being denied media exposure, reports the Arab Network for Human Rights Information (ANHRI).
