(NUSOJ/IFEX) - The National Union of Somali Journalists (NUSOJ) condemns the kidnapping of UNIVERSAL TV Director Ibrahim Mohamed Ali.

According to UNIVERSAL TV, Ibrahim Mohamed Ali, nicknamed "Jeekey", was kidnapped in Garasbaley village on 2 June 2009 by four hooded and armed men when he was on his way back from the Afgoye district to Mogadishu city. He was with Abdirisak Mohamud Jimale, one of the technicians of UNIVERSAL TV.

The kidnappers abducted Ibrahim Mohamed Ali in a sedan after they searched his UNIVERSAL TV car and told him that he was the one they were looking for.
