A Moscow court sentenced Dmitry Pavlyuchenkov to 11 years in prison for his role in the 2006 murder of Novaya Gazeta reporter Anna Politkovskaya. Throughout the trial no witnesses testified, no evidence was examined and journalists were barred from most of the hearings. (read more)
