Martha Gellhorn Prize open for entries

Do you have a story that challenges the secrets and lies in public affairs à la WikiLeaks? Submit it for consideration for the 2010 Martha Gellhorn Prize before 31 March 2011.

The 5,000-pound (US$8,100) Martha Gellhorn Prize celebrates journalism that challenges "official drivel" and raises "forgotten" issues of public importance, without fear or favour, and working against the grain of government spin.

Gellhorn was one of the most experienced war reporters of the 20th century, having written about the Depression, the rise of fascism in Europe, the Vietnam War, and conflicts in Central America, among others.

The print or online work must be published in English, be substantial and credible, and demonstrate a facts-based approach. Blogs and opinion pieces will not be considered.
