(IPYS/IFEX) - On 10 July 2010, Rodrigo Santos, a reporter for Radio Cidade radio station, was assaulted by Delfim Peixoto Neto, an advisor to the president of the Catarinense Football Association. The incident took place at the end of a football match in Joinville, southern Brasil.

According to Santos, Neto burst into the press booth and started to hit and kick him. The journalist suffered a broken nose and lost consciousness for a few minutes. He was admitted to hospital for treatment.
