Apply now for Council of Europe Youth Media Award

Are you a young journalist (aged 18-30) in Europe dedicated to a free press? Then apply now for the second Council of Europe Youth Media Award, the theme of which is media freedom this year. The deadline for entries is 1 August 2011.

Using photo, radio, video or text, show your interpretation of Article 10 of the European Convention of Human Rights, which states, "Everyone has the right to freedom of expression. This right shall include freedom to hold opinions and to receive and impart information and ideas without interference by public authority and regardless of frontiers…"

Your entries should illustrate positive and/or negative aspects of media freedom in 21st century Europe.

Winners will be invited to Strasbourg to receive their prize of 1,000 Euros (US$1,430) at a ceremony during the October 2011 session of the Parliamentary Assembly.
