The Asia Media Forum is inviting journalists, subject experts, civil society activists and policy makers from Asia to participate in the Asia Media Conclave in Bangkok from 25 to 27 March 2009. The theme this year is "Media in the Time of Crisis".

"In Asia we are at the receiving end of a much deeper recession, increasing instances of terrorism, deficit of democracy and potential risk of conflict and natural calamities. All these will have impact on the media - in terms of implications as well as responsibilities," says the Asia Media Forum.

Participants will discuss the implications of the crises, focusing on the areas of the economy, environment, food and governance, and explore proposals to address them.

According to the forum, the conference will be a unique opportunity for journalists to interact with fellow journalists and editors from different parts of Asia as well as with some of the most respected thinkers, academics and civil society leaders across the continent.

For international participants, a registration fee of US$150 covers hotel stay and conference lunches for three days.

Those interested in participating should send their name, position, organisation, country and contact details to milindkokje (@) or asiamediaforumktm (@) for registration. For more information, see:
