*HRNJ-Uganda alert, Court adjourns a journalist's assault case against a
school teacher*

*Kampala, 7th/ January/2014*; Court at Law Development Centre has adjourned
a case in which a Vision Group Journalist, Mathias Sebwato was allegedly
assaulted by Ataremwa Justus -a teacher at Old Kampala Senior Secondary
School.

This was after Ataremwa prayed for an adjournment of the case since the
defence Counsel Namulondo Diana was still on leave and had not come to
court.

The trial magistrate, Lagara Michael cautioned the accused to get another
lawyer if his counsel was not diligent in representing him. He adjourned
the matter to 31st January 2014.

Sebwato, a video journalist with the Vision Group' Bukedde TV accuses the
teacher of assaulting him in October 2012 when he had to the school to
cover a story of a student who had been barred from sitting her final Form
Four examinations.
