Ukrainian editor stabbed in leg

On the morning of March 18, 2013, Valentyna Vasylchenko, a well-known journalist for the Vechirni Cherkassy weekly newspaper, was attacked.

According to Vasylchenko, an unknown woman wounded her right leg with a knife. The journalist managed to record the license plate number of the dark cherry Toyota in which the aggressor sat. The journalist called an ambulance and the police.

According to Vasylchenko, ambulance doctors treated the wound, which, according to them, is quite deep. She believes that the attack could be connected with her critical publications.

This is the second attack Vasylchenko has faced. On August 14, 2000, the journalist was beaten by unknown people in her own yard, but the police did not find the aggressors.
